FAQs

Find The Most Common Questions For Scott Audas Jiu Jitsu

  • Do I need any experience to start BJJ?

Not at all! Most students begin with zero martial arts experience. Our classes are beginner-friendly, and our coaches will guide you step by step so you can progress at your own pace.

  • What should I wear to my first class?

For your trial class, comfortable athletic wear (like a T-shirt and shorts or leggings) works fine. If you join, you’ll need a gi (uniform) for traditional classes, but we also offer no-gi sessions where rash guards and shorts are standard.

  • Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu safe?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. Techniques are taught in a controlled environment, and you’ll always train with partners who respect your pace. Injuries are rare when students follow instruction and tap early.

  • Am I too old or out of shape to start BJJ?

Not at all. BJJ is for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or body type. Many students start in their 30s, 40s, or even later. You’ll build strength, mobility, and endurance gradually as you train.

  • How often should I train as a beginner?

2–3 times per week is ideal to start. This helps you retain techniques without overwhelming your body. As you get more comfortable, you can increase your training frequency.

  • Do you offer classes for kids?

Yes! Our kids’ program teaches focus, discipline, and self-defense in a safe, encouraging environment. It’s a great way for children to build confidence, make friends, and stay active.
